Apparently it’s from an article called “You’ve got to cheat to win,” talking about how everyone cheated in the game (spikes, tripping, holding, etc.).

He said it. Everyone in baseball cheats if you count stealing signs etc. That was cheating back then. Now it is drugs and betting on baseball and throwing games.
