Why doesn’t ESPN cover the NHL?
Well, it does. But barely.
I always see college highlights
being played way before anything having to do with hockey.
Last night for example, all they did was talk about Georgetown this, Duke that. It’s not even a professional sport and it gets more attention the NHL All Star Game?
And since many basketball teams share their arean’s with NHL teams, doesn’t that mean the audiences are about equal? The NHL even has a better attendence record than the NBA. Not only is the NHL’s highest average higher than the NBA’s, so is their lowest average by more than 1,000 people.

I would even venture to say hockey is more exciting than baseball.
Now, I LOVE the MLB but there’s always pitching changes, and pauses. Half of the time you’re waiting for someone to get on base. Hockey has hard hits, is constantly moving with even some fights.
I don’t get it, help?
There are a few reasons. Mainly because they lost it for broadcast . Due to a low ball offer and bad feelings with Bettman . So they are just having the attitude ” Oh By the way here is a sport played on ice with pucks and sticks” They even when they had it were not trying that hard. IMO. But it seems to just be some whiny bad feelings that caused it all. in the first place. If they truly cared about being “The World Wide Leader in Sports” Then they would give hockey it’s due. I just do not see that happening anytime soon. We will just have to take out two minutes with Melrose and leave it at that for now .
