I don’t understand AT ALL how this works…Sexson?
So Sexson, a player for the Mariners, charges the mound, throws his helmet at the pitcher, and tries to beat the crap put of him.
He gets a six game suspension.
What he committed, on camera and in front of millions of people, was AGGRAVATED BATTERY. This is a FELONY, a VIOLENT CRIME. Why doesn’t he get arrested and charged?!
Why is it ok if you’re playing a sport like baseball or hockey to violently assault and batter someone else?
How come they get a 5 minute penalty or a six game suspension for something you or I would get JAIL TIME and a PERMANENT CRIMINAL RECORD for?!
I don’t get it.
I don’t get why Building Contractors and Designers don’t go to jail for homicide (negligence or other) when Citizens die in their buildings in tornados, hurricanes, earthquakes either!! Makes me sick that these “professionals” get away with that, because if they did get punished/jailed/fined, SOMETHING, they might actually try and design and construct safer products for their Customers!!
6 games is too much for Sexson’s charge at the mound, I’ve seen worse get less punishment in baseball.
