Baseball Players Wearing their pants to their Feet?
I think it looks awful. What happened to the days when I was growing up were players wore Stirrup’s with plain white socks. Then it went to Colored socks and white socks with stripes. All those looks are so much better than the pants down. Even Little Leaguers are wearing them down now. What do you think?

But Megan, they wear socks under anyway, and its harder to keep pants down than up.
I don’t particularly like the fashion…but I’ve lived through worse (the “super tight” pants of the late 1970s when…let’s face it…baseball did not have the fittest athletes in the world was a pretty dark time…as were the “softball” pullover tops of the 80s.)
I’m a traditionalist myself, I prefer the pants to be no lower than mid calf.
I will say this about the “clemson cut” pants, however. I had to borrow a pair from a teammate when I tore mine on a slide. They are suprisingly comfortable because they don’t “grab” at your calfs when you’re running and throwing.
As for the socks, I don’t reall miss the white “sanitaries” and stirrups. They were a bit of a pain. They actually went back to the days when the colored sox were wool, so players wore thinner, cotton sox underneath. Since two layers of socks were uncomfortable, some guys cut the heels and fore-foot section of the wool socks, hence “stirrups” were born. Now that there is no more need to wear multiple layers of socks, I have no problem with the solid ones.
