How Mens Golf Clothes Had Changed
Golf clothing for men should always correspond to form and function. Legends like Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods know their golf clothing and are known to sport a dashing style in the field. This made watching them even a more spectacular experience.
You might say that golf clothing for men doesn’t necessarily have to be specific. As long as your golf attire meets the standards for proper golf etiquette you could play on any course in the country. This might hold true for some, but it would take the fun, feel and glamour out of the sport for others. Since golf is not your everyday man’s game, one should always wear splendid golf clothing for men so they can look and play the part.
Proper Golf Clothing for Men
While golf clothing for men used to be considered as dowdy by the younger generation, these gentlemen always made sure to properly dress at tee time. Style adapts to the times and golf clothing for men have become much more hip than before. Look on any given Sunday and you’ll notice that several of the golfers are sporting some flash.
The Polo Shirt
Country club rules dictate that you should always wear a shirt with at least a one-inch collar. The purpose is to maintain a little bit of formality on the golf course. Men used to wear long sleeved shirts when playing golf, but when the polo shirt was introduced it became a phenomenon. It allowed everyone to wear something more stylish than and ordinary shirt and still look appropriate.
You can still choose to wear a long-sleeved shirt, but many golf courses encourage golf clothing for men to be more casual. Various labels from classic design houses all provide classic polo shirts, while the more modern players go for brands like Oakley, Nike, and Adidas. Designers employ modern technology to make their apparel, they often consider the weather conditions to ensure that playing is comfortable.
Polo shirts work great in warm or tropical weather, especially those made of lightweight fabrics. To keep warm when you play in colder conditions, wear a golf sweater over your shirt. You could also opt for a golf jacket or a golf vest which appeals to the younger players.
Golf polo shirts normally have a shirttail to prevent from coming undone. Modern designers though, often provide ones that don’t have vents on the sides as well as tails. Polo shirts come in many different designs and are often in bright shades.
Golf Trousers
Do you notice the men in the field with multi-pleated pants billowing in the wind? You do not want to emulate those guys. Golf clothing for men has evolved because the pros have untaken a revolution in health and fitness, because of Tiger Woods the vast majority of players today are now more fit and trim. Fashion magazines and other designers of style promote flat front pants, without the pleats. This provides a more proper form on the golf course, without your golf trousers ballooning at your sides.
When buying golf trousers remember that belt loops are a necessity. Proper golf attire men dictates wearing a belt, and it’s believed that belts add a little bit of formality to one’s appearance. Your belt should be made of genuine leather, and if you fancy ones with metal tips, make sure they are discreet. Your golf trousers should not have cuffs. Cuffs tend to trap dirt, and if you end up in the bunker, you’re going to go drag a lot sand with you.
Some players prefer to wear golf shorts on the course. Although shorts are now visible on the golf course today, they can not be make of denim. On your country club courses men golf clothes do not include jeans because jeans are considered to be too casual. Golf shorts should be a bit above the knee to be considered okay.
Golf Socks
Golf clothing for men is never complete without golf socks. To be absolutely proper you should always remember to match you socks to your golf pants or your golf shoes particularly if you are wearing golf shorts.
Many of our golf shits and golf jackets come in bright and vivid colors, it is easy to wear pants with a solid color to properly balance any style. This is why your golf socks should come in neutral and muted colors too. They should be high enough on your calf as to not show any skin when your golf pants are hiked up.
If golf shorts are what you like to wear, you must take care to match them with your golf shoes. Saddle shoes are a popular choice in shoes. You can wear any color sock that fits into your personal style. If you do wear black shoes, you should pair them with black socks, no question.
Miscellaneous Golf Attire Accessories
A hat will keep the sun off your face. Several men wear straw hats on the courxe, but the modern golfers like to wear baseball caps. Some people also wear sunglasses.
