Selecting a good catchers glove is the first step in outfitting a catcher

I had to research baseball once for a paper in junior high school. I didn’t get the best score, I believe that it was a B-, but I believed it was rather interesting. I had no idea it would prove useful once I was grown-up. I signed up to participate in over 30 baseball in the city league this season. I am not a very good player, but my buddies and I are really playing just for fun.

We all figured we’d do the best we could and be able to celebrate a victory or a big loss at our own favorite city bar. They have been our sponsor after all. I resolved that I wanted to become the catcher for our team. Basically, I didn’t really choose so much as I got chosen. I instantly found out that there was lots of catcher gear to buy. With some luck this game wasn’t going to make me broke. Catchers gear consists of protective equipment designed to shield you from the shock from the baseball. Generally, the baseball catchers equipment does not actually vary much from softball protective gear. You’d reckon that seeing that generally girls play fastpitch, fastpitch protective equipment might have added cushioning as well, but it doesn’t.

One particular item that baseball catching gear has that softball protective gear won’t need is a protective cup. That might certainly be a part of my catchers apparatus.
